Terms of Service

The short version

• You must be 18 or older.
• Chips are play money. Tokens and items have no cash value and can't be sold or traded.
• Plus renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the extension.
• Watch from your own streaming account. Hangz syncs; it doesn't share the video.
• Be decent. Hosts and moderators can mute and kick, and we can remove accounts.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and 3C's Consulting LLC, doing business as Hangz ("Hangz", "we", "us"). By installing the Hangz extension, creating an account, or using a Hangz room, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Hangz.

2. Who can use Hangz

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. One person per account. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens on your account. Usernames that impersonate someone, or are hateful or sexual, may be changed or removed.

3. Watching together

Hangz works with streaming services such as YouTube, Netflix and Prime Video. Each viewer plays the video from their own account on that service, in their own browser tab. Hangz keeps everyone's play, pause and position in sync; it does not copy, host or rebroadcast the video.

• You need your own subscription to the service you're watching and must follow that service's terms.
• Hangz isn't affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube, Netflix, Amazon or any other streaming service. Their names belong to them.
• Those services can change their sites at any time, which may stop Hangz working on them for a while. We'll try to fix it, but we can't promise any service will keep working.

4. Camera, mic and chat

Camera and mic are off unless you turn them on. You're responsible for what you say, show and share. Don't record other people without their permission. Don't share anything you don't have the right to share.

5. Rules of conduct

Don't:

• Harass, threaten, bully or hate on anyone, or share sexual content involving anyone who hasn't agreed to it.
• Share anything involving minors in a sexual way, or anything illegal. We report child-safety material to the authorities.
• Spam, scam, or try to get people's passwords or payment details.
• Cheat, exploit bugs, use bots, or try to get tokens, items or Founder numbers you didn't earn or pay for.
• Attack, overload, reverse-engineer or interfere with Hangz or its servers.
• Use Hangz to gamble for real money or anything of value.

Moderation

Room hosts can kick people from their room. In creator rooms, owners and moderators can mute people, choose who can speak or use a camera, turn chat off or slow it down, and kick. A kick keeps someone out of that room for up to 12 hours. Troll mode, voted by others in the room, is for annoying behaviour; for anything serious, use report and block. We review reports and may warn, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice. If you think we got it wrong, email support@hangz.io.

6. Chips, tokens and virtual items

• Chips are play money for the games in Hangz rooms. They can't be bought, sold, cashed out or exchanged for anything. Hangz has no real-money gambling.
• Tokens are earned by spending time in rooms. They can only be used inside Hangz to unlock items. They can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money. We may change how tokens are earned and what things cost.
• Virtual items (characters, outfits, hats, the Founder and others) are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use them in Hangz. You don't own them as property. They can't be sold, traded or moved to another account.
• If your account is closed for breaking these terms, or if Hangz shuts down, chips, tokens and items end with it. If we ever shut Hangz down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice.

7. Purchases

Payments are handled by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and may include tax where required. By buying, you also agree to Stripe's terms for the payment.

Hangz Plus

• Plus is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown when you sign up.
• It renews automatically at the end of each period and charges the payment method on file until you cancel.
• Cancel any time in the extension: open the Plus screen and press Manage or cancel Plus. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't give partial refunds for the remaining time, except where the law requires it.
• If we change the price, we'll tell you before your next renewal and you can cancel before it applies.
• Plus adds extras. Everything that's free in Hangz stays free.

The Founder

The Founder is a one-time purchase. Only 100 will ever be sold, one per account, each with its own number (No. 001 to No. 100). Numbers are given in order of purchase and can't be chosen or transferred.

Refunds

If something you bought didn't work or you were charged by mistake, email support@hangz.io within 14 days and we'll make it right. Otherwise, purchases of virtual items are final once they're delivered to your account, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. If you reverse a charge with your bank, we may remove the item or Plus it paid for.

8. Your content

You own what you create and say on Hangz. You give us a limited permission to carry it to the people in your room or chat and to store it as described in the Privacy Policy, only so we can run Hangz.

9. Copyright

Hangz, its name and logo, and its software, characters, rooms and art are provided to you only to use within Hangz. You may not copy, extract, resell or reuse them outside Hangz, or use the Hangz name in a way that suggests we endorse you. If you believe something on Hangz infringes your copyright, email support@hangz.io with: your contact details, what the work is, where it appears on Hangz, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorised to act for them. We'll remove infringing material and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

10. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them freely without owing you anything.

11. Changes to Hangz and these terms

Hangz is new and will change. We may add, change or remove features. If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell you in the extension before the change takes effect. Using Hangz after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen; doing so cancels Plus. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.

13. Disclaimers

Hangz is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't make promises about Hangz beyond those in these terms, including that it will always be available, error-free, or work with every streaming service. We're not responsible for what other players say or do, or for the streaming services themselves.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hangz and its owners won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Hangz is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

15. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Please contact us first so we can try to sort things out. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Nevada, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally. Either side may use small-claims court if the claim qualifies.

17. General

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them as part of a sale or merger of the business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Hangz.
